- 1. You should be under 50 years of age
- 2. You are holding a current student visa (excluding the visa supported by the Defence or Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister)
- 3. You should have applied for and been granted your first student visa on or after 5 November 2011. 4. 4. You will not be eligible to apply for this visa prior this date.
- 5. The qualification you achieve should be an eligible degree (bachelor, masters, doctoral) to be able to – apply for this graduate temporary work visa.
- 6. A standalone diploma or trade qualification does not make you eligible to apply for this visa.
- 7. You’ve held a student visa in the last 6 months before your application and you now have a Bridging -Visa A or B, or substantive visa.
- 8. You may have recently acquired a degree in a CRICOS-registered course
- 9. You must provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply
- 10. You must provide evidence that you have applied for an AFP check
- 11. You must provide evidence of the required level of English fluency
- 12. You must not have any debt with the Australian government
- 13. You should not have a cancelled visa or previous application refuse
Applying for a longer stay
The subclass 485 visa is not meant for extending your stay in Australia. However, you may be eligible to apply for a second post study work stream visa. To acquire eligibility, you must live, work and/or study in a regional area during the validity of your first post study work visa in Australia. Temporary graduate visa holders from Hong Kong can apply for permanent residency after 5 years.
